Atwater Village Community Celebrated Fall with its Second Annual Trick-or-Treat
Event Last Friday on October 28th 2005.
The Atwater Village Neighborhood Council, in conjunction with the Atwater/Griffith
Park Chamber of Commerce, hosted their second annual Trick-or-Treat fall
festival on Glendale Boulevard this past Friday. Hundreds of local children and
their parents flocked to the Atwater Village Neighborhood Council’s main table
dressed up in Halloween costumes. Children and parents then visited local
businesses for treats and gifts. Nearly 50 Atwater Village businesses
participated in this year’s event.
“We celebrated another successful trick-or-treat event this year,” said Perla
Miranda, Fundraising and Events Planning Committee Chair, Church/Religion
Representative, Atwater Village Neighborhood Council. “We had ghosts, goblins,
firefighters, police officers, gypsies, devils and teddy bears! Events like these are
not only great for our children, but they also allow parents/residents to meet new
people, get involved with our neighborhood council and other organizations, and
most importantly, celebrate the holidays with their children.”

Participating businesses on the day of the event included: Acapulco Restaurant; A+K Labels; Atwater Ranch Market; Club Tee
Gee; Coldstone Creamery; Creative Grounds; Four Seasons Flowers & Gifts; Gebhardt’s Cleaners; Heart Beat House;
Importante Gift Shop; Jill’s Paints; Kaldi Coffee & Tea; Mano Shoe Repair; Pampered Birds; Pilates Metro; Silver Lake Video;
Subway; Thousand Fabrics; Velvet Threads; and Via Romi Salon. (bold are chamber members)
