| It was a gathering of the Village. On Saturday, March 5, 2005, both residents and business people of Atwater Village joined Eric Garcetti, Council member for the 13th District for breakfast at the Atwater Ranch Market on Glendale Boulevard. Councilmember Garcetti, mingled with the crowd, talking one on one about issues, present and future, posing for pictures when asked. It was unusual for a political rally in that Eric made no speeches. Instead he warmly thanked the Village for its attendance and support. A delicious breakfast of pancakes, fresh fruit, orange juice and coffee was provided by Outback Catering and entertainment was provided by a wonderful bagpiper dressed in his clan’s plaids, complete with kilt and by three groups of Latino dancers. There were brochures about Councilmember Garcetti, past accomplishments and future plans available as well as key rings for all. And the weather cooperated – the forecasted rain held off so that everyone could enjoy the breakfast with Eric Garcetti. |
